COBALT / ACCELERATOR

Cobalt Accelerator, also known as cobalt octoate or cobalt naphthenate, is a commonly used accelerator in the curing of polyester and vinyl ester resins in composite manufacturing. It is a cobalt-based compound that is added to the resin to increase the rate of curing and reduce the time required for the resin to harden.

Cobalt Accelerator is typically added in small amounts, ranging from 0.5 to 3.0% by weight, depending on the specific resin formulation and curing requirements. It is important to use the correct amount of accelerator, as too much can cause the resin to cure too quickly and result in excessive heat generation, warping or cracking.
