Biaxial mat (commonly referred to as BD) is a type of reinforcement material used in composites, particularly in the production of fiberglass-reinforced plastics (FRP) as it’s now more commonly known. It is a fabric made from woven fiberglass fibres, and "biaxial" refers to the orientation of the fibres in two directions either +- 45 degrees or 0 – 90 degrees.
